Water softener systems in a residential setting
01

Start with the hardness level

Calcium and magnesium contribute to water hardness. An assessment helps determine whether softening is appropriate and how much treatment your household needs. We also consider daily use, available space and existing treatment equipment.

02

Softening and conditioning are different

Salt-based softeners use ion exchange to reduce hardness minerals and need periodic salt replenishment. Salt-free conditioning may be appropriate for certain scale-management goals, but it does not remove hardness in the same way. We explain the difference before you choose.

03

From first installation to replacement

We can discuss a new whole-house softener, replacement of an aging unit, or service for a system that is no longer working as expected. An in-home review includes the brine tank, controls and service access where relevant.

A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Does a softener filter drinking water?+

A softener primarily addresses hardness. Separate filtration or reverse osmosis may be appropriate for drinking-water concerns.

How much maintenance is involved?+

Needs vary by equipment and use. Salt-based systems require salt checks, while controls and components may need periodic inspection.
